What is it like running a My City Allstars Franchise?

Dream of being your own boss? For $15,000 down, it can become a reality! And $5,000 of that goes right back to you for marketing! The best part is, you don't need to quit your day job just yet (unless you want to). Our current core program dictates that My City Allstars summer camp should run for a minimum of 6 weeks, full-time, in the summer. However, while MCA is full-time during the summer weeks in-session, it’s part-time (or less) during the remainder of the year. As such, this tends to be the ideal business for educators or those with flexible schedules. Alternatively, the business can be turned into a year-round program should the franchise choose to add clinics, winter or spring camps, leagues, or after school programs.

You've got questions about what life looks like being a
My City Allstars Owner, we've got answers!

Who is the ideal My City Allstars Franchisee?

Does the franchise owner need to work the business?

To be your own boss and run a My City Allstars franchise requires an immense amount of organization, interpersonal and communication skills, patience with children and parents, flexibility, and most importantly, your determination. In addition, your relationship with, or your ability to build a relationship with, a great facility is paramount to running a successful camp (i.e., schools, recreation centers, or other sports facilities). Experience with athletics and having an entrepreneurial spirit is a bonus!

Can I purchase the franchise for someone else?

Each applicant must submit their own application and be interviewed in order to be awarded a franchise.

When is the best time to start a My City Allstars Franchise?

My City Allstars is ideal for an owner/operator who wants to be their own boss. If an owner chooses to appoint a camp director(s), then those persons must go through training. Regardless of owners taking an active or silent/investment position in the franchise, all owners must go through MCA training.

What is the time commitment?

My City Allstars is designed as a seasonal business, so the time commitment varies throughout the year.  You may choose to run other programs, clinics, and after school programs throughout the rest of the year. However, if you choose to run the traditional camp model only, your time commitment will look something like this:

Winter- 5-15 hours per month
Spring- 5-10 hours per week
Summer- 40-80 hours per week
Fall- 5-10 hours per month

In essence, you work really hard for 2 months and have 10 months to recover or run other programs should you choose!

The ideal time to launch a franchise and open registrations for summer camp is between January and March. Other programs may be launched at other times during the year.

It typically takes about 3-4 weeks to go through the process of purchasing a franchise.

Can two people purchase a franchise together?

Absolutely! Each applicant must still go through the application process. Contact us to learn more!
